Violence is a big problem in our lives. There is violence in the streets, schools and in our own home. There is physical violence and psychological violence around us. Both of them are dangerous and have terrific consequences even though they are different. However, we care more about physical violence due to the visible marks.
Violence is everywhere, from streets to the privacy of our homes. In school kids fight for what they think is right, the most common reason is gangs or clicks. They fight to show that they are better and that their gang/click "deserves respect." Like one of my friend used to fight a lot just because they looked at her bad or that insulted her gang. It didn’t matter who she was fighting with, she just fought till one of them couldn’t take it anymore. That kind of violence affects people around violent people. Like for example, in home they just aren’t patient to do something or they just go out wondering alone or with other people. And most of the times they get in trouble.
Physical violence is the kind of violence that we see the most. When we talk about violence we think of people fighting whether with their hands or with weapons or knifes. The outcome of most of these cases is people getting injured or killed. Most of the time, this fighting’s proofs are scars, bruises or wounds and when we see this on a person we automatically think of violence. Physical violence is one of the most dangerous types of violence because it can lead to death. However, there is other type of violence that is as dangerous as physical violence but we don’t notice it at all and it has the same outcomes.
Psychological violence is probably the most common violence in our daily life. Psychological violence doesn’t have visible scars or wounds but they are in our mind. An example of psychological violence is when a parent is always insulting their kids. They tell them that they are worthless, they can’t succeed or wish that they could be like someone else or better. This kind of violence lowers people self esteem till the point that they believe it and sometimes they even commit suicide or at least try to. It affects all kinds of people and is doesn’t matter who the person is, it still affects that person. Everybody at some point is victim of psychological violence.
Fighting, stealing, killing, bad discussions and arguments are different kinds of violence but all of them have a solution. We just need to see through history to find that violence is a big issue. War is the perfect example but war always has an excuse to be violent -“Freedom”- that is supposed to be the reason of war. Overall, violence in general is affecting our life but the kind of violence that we can prevent is psychological violence by seeking for help. Violence is always going to be present in our lives but at some point we have to stop and think what we should do to prevent it. It isn’t going to disappear in three seconds but it is going to be less.
